Total alkalinity is the total water content of alkalis, (bicarbonates and carbonates), present in the water, with the ideal total alkalinity in a swimming pool being between 100 and 200ppm. Champion Alkalinity Increaser is a very high quality product.

Champion Alkalinity Increaser (Bicarb)

A low total alkalinity level can lead to large fluctuations in the pH level of the water and corrosion and damage to pool equipment.

A high total alkalinity acts as a buffer to the alteration of pH level and causes the water to become cloudy, with scale forming easily.

Total alkalinity should be tested for on a monthly basis to ensure your water is correctly balanced.
  • Available in 1 kg or 5kg packs or 25kg buckets
Dosing Rate
Please follow supplied instructions to test your water and work out the correct dosing rate
  • To raised by 10ppm use 2lb per 10,000 gallons
  • Required levels 100ppm - 200 ppm
